The Good

 Carolina did me good for some points, Cam Ward did that weird thing that Cam Ward does. This guy is one of the worst goaltenders in the NHL and yet somehow I take him for huge fantasy points more than once. #IbelieveinCamWard.

Jeff Skinner also played lights out, after a worrying first period with no shots. 2 snipes, I'll take it. Good boy Jeff.

Also, I can spell Vasilevskiy without looking, so good boy me.

The Bad

 This is easy. Hockey. God damn it hockey you are so bad. In what world do the Coyotes light up Tampa Bay for 4 goals. I get it, injuries, injuries, but shit, you're basically playing an ECHL team with a good goalie. Oh, Mike Smith didn't play? So, an ECHL team with an ECHL goalie. God damn.

Vasilevskiy let them in early and often, watching his stats plummet was like watching a dumpster fire. And I blame him for everything! Ondrej Palat put up shit for numbers because Vasilevskiy couldn't catch a cab! What a stupid team, what a stupid goalie and what a stupid sport.

The Result

 And another thing about goalies... Ben Bishop couldn't beat Arizona even with the LA Kings. Whoever coaches goalies in Tampa Bay needs to have his car flipped over by a violent mob. I hate you so much.

There were huge points available in the Washington v Calgary game, but I didn't account for the Tkachuk suspension and Ferland illness as big enough factors to impact the outcome, which is dumb because Michael fucking Ferland waylayed my ass in the 3rd grade and I had to get stitches. Son of a bitch.

I did bad, don't worry about it.

The Hunk
Jeff Skinner, what a guy. Really kept me out of the bottom 10. 8% ownership. Without this guy it would have been a very embarrassing result, instead of merely a mildly embarrassing one.

Easy to say that he the real MVP.











The Junk

Andrei Vasilevskiy you bastard.You seriously lost to Arizona. I picked you and thought for sure I'm getting win points if not a shutout. How could you be so bad? No, I didn't watch the game, I don't have time for these things.

You let in 4 goals. 4 goals against a team that doesn't even dress 4 NHL quality skaters. Time to bring in the Latvian.

I know very little about Penguins' GM Jim Rutherford. So, I just assume he stinks - because all GM's stink, to some degree. The Curious Case of Cam Ward: An Attempt to Quantify "Luck" in Goaltending

As a WHL guy, a Canadian and a sucker for the underdog, I'm a big fan of Cam Ward. I think he is (at least was) a good goalie, with some very bad luck. So, I am going to go back and watch a bunch of goals from his most recent seasons and skew the data to agree with my hot take. I will also take a look at Carey Price's current season as I think he is the closest there is to the consensus #1 goalie in the world. The perfect juxtaposition for Cam Ward. I've also included Corey Crawford (2017-2018) for those that take issue with Carey Price's inclusion in this report.
