My "Go" at Ken Campbell

It's been well documented how The Hockey News writer Ken Campbell went after Sportsnet's Cassie Campbell-Pascall because of her relation with Calgary Flames Ass't GM Brad Pascall. Below is the tweet:

"Cassie Campbell is a very good, well-informed and intelligent color analyst. But it's unacceptable that @hockeynight has her working Calgary Flames' games. Her husband, Brad, is the Flames' assistant GM." (source: HockeyFEED)

 I let Ken Campbell have it with the following tirade:

 1. You are a very confused and pathetic man. It's your brand of misogyny and hate speech like this that is being thankfully run out of the mainstream. I hope you can take a long hard look at yourself and recognize that the shortcomings in your life are only your fault.

 2. Congratulations on your contributions to keeping women out of the game. You shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a hockey rink. You don't appreciate the game and you don't belong a part of it.

3. To disqualify a person of qualifications based on her gender and her relationships should be a life long point of embarrassment for and it's misogyny hack writer Ken. Equating her womanhood with bias is not only unfair but....

 4. It's the same patriarchal bullshit that the world is fighting to be free from. Ken, you should have an apology written to match your resignation. We are no longer a sport that relies on the racist, homophobic and SEXIST comments of old white men. Leave for the sake of hockey.

 5. Leave for the sake of initiatives like and other inclusivity programs. Maybe you can captain the with a heart as full of hate as yours, but nobody wants you to be a part of this sport like that. Goodbye.

 It's important to speak up when you see shit like this. He has since issued an apology.

The Curious Case of Cam Ward: An Attempt to Quantify "Luck" in Goaltending

As a WHL guy, a Canadian and a sucker for the underdog, I'm a big fan of Cam Ward. I think he is (at least was) a good goalie, with some very bad luck. So, I am going to go back and watch a bunch of goals from his most recent seasons and skew the data to agree with my hot take. I will also take a look at Carey Price's current season as I think he is the closest there is to the consensus #1 goalie in the world. The perfect juxtaposition for Cam Ward. I've also included Corey Crawford (2017-2018) for those that take issue with Carey Price's inclusion in this report.
